John Rybak & Friends: A Musical Journey from Rochester to the Bay. Rooted in the blues and jazz traditions of his native Rochester, NY, John’s musical journey began at 14, inspired by his family and the legends of harmonica. In 2003, he packed his life into a Jeep and headed west, bringing his soulful, high-intensity sound to the San Francisco Bay Area.
Today, John performs across the SF area and returns to his New York roots annually. Backed by a rotating cast of fiddle, hand percussion, and upright bass, John & Friends deliver a “musical road trip” through American roots and early southern blues. Their performances are built on substance, integrity, and the feel-good energy of the modern jam and indie rock scenes.
